Riggins Adventure Session in the Seven Devils Mountains
One evening this past fall I disappeared into the mountains of Riggins with the sweetest family to take their engagement photos. I love elopements and intimate weddings because the couples that get married this way are never the same. Some are old, some are young, some have kids, and some don’t, but they all are choosing to get married in a way that celebrates their relationship and unique place in life. Love is something I’ll never grow tired of photographing and I hope you can feel the joy coming through each and every photo from Britt & Jared’s Seven Devils Mountains adventure session.
Britt & Jared’s Riggins Adventure Session
An autumn escape into the mountains
Britt and Jared traveled to Riggins with their kiddos for this adventure engagement session, wanting the opportunity to explore the beautiful landscape that this part of Idaho has to offer. They were craving a brief escape into the mountains, away from the business of life, so they could come back to what mattered most: their love for one another, and for the family they’d created. Britt and Jared cozied up with each other beneath the pine trees, strolling hand in hand along a trail that led to a breathtaking alpine lake located at the base of the mountain. I loved the bridal-inspired look they chose for their outfits, Britt wearing a white dress and Jared in classic black and white attire.

While we didn’t get any sunshine on this chilly autumn evening, we did take advantage of the dreamy, overcast light that allowed the majesty of the mountains to speak for themselves. The rocky peaks stood tall behind Britt and Jared as they danced along the lakeshores, whispering jokes and bringing out the biggest smiles on each other’s faces. My favorite spot of the night was the hillock they walked along as the sun set over the mountain, bringing out the most stunning and gentle blue hour glow, just in time to bring out the lanterns we had with us. I know that most folks dream of what the summers look like in Idaho, with vibrant greens and sunny blue skies, but let this be proof that clouds, cold, and barren alpine terrain are just as enchanting in their own way.
