My Approach To Your Adventure Elopement or Intimate Wedding

Our relationship begins before your wedding

My work with you begins long before your wedding day. After your initial inquiry I will schedule a time to talk with you over the phone or in person. During our first meeting we will talk about your couple story and wedding vision. This is a time to figure out if we share the same vision for your wedding photography.

If you decide that I am the right fit for your wedding then I will walk you through completing the booking process. This will include picking a date and location (if you don’t already have one), filling out a contract form and paying a reservation retainer. Once this is completed your date is officially saved and you are ready to start planning the most amazing day of your life!

Planning Your adventure engagement session

I encourage all wedding couples to consider an engagement session. This is an awesome opportunity to get to know each other and to work together before your wedding day. Your engagement session will help make working together on your wedding day feel seamless. I feel so strongly about the importance of engagement sessions that I have include them in my wedding collections.

I will offer location suggestions based on how adventurous you would like your engagement session to be. I have locations in Grangeville, McCall, Boise and Stanley, Idaho I love using. As you are planning your engagement session I am available to offer clothing and activity ideas.

Developing a wedding day timeline and picture list

I cannot stress enough how important good communication is. I cannot photograph things I am unaware of. Creating a picture list ensures I am aware of the people and details that are especially important to you. Sketching out a wedding day timeline creates good flow and helps everyone know when things are happening throughout the day.

I like to sit down with you at least two week before your wedding date to make a timeline and picture list. This is a great time to go over the details of your wedding day and answer any questions we may have for each other. If you are planning an elopement than a picture list is not necessary.

On your wedding day

My approach on your wedding day is unposed with a dash of story telling. I will spend time taking pictures of your wedding details - flowers, rings, wedding attire etc. These images depict your personalities and are wonderful images for your wedding album. I focus on capturing candid images during your getting ready process, ceremony and reception. During your ceremony I take a mix of up close and landscape pictures in order to show the context of your wedding location. Your family and couple pictures can be as candid or formal as you desire. I really stress the importance of setting aside at least an hour for your couple pictures because they are the ones that really matter.

Exploring the Morning after

If you book an adventure elopement or intimate wedding off the beaten path your collection will include a sunrise session the morning after your wedding. Sunrise sessions are so much fun because they give you the opportunity to go adventuring for the first time as a married couple. They can be anything from going on a stroll around the lake with your favorite cup of coffee to dawning your wedding attire, strapping on your boots and hiking to a mountain lookout.

Delivering your Photos

I will send off a sneak peek 1-2 days following your wedding. I deliver your images via an online gallery where you can print, share and download high resolution files of your photographs. Your full wedding gallery will be available 3-6 weeks after your wedding. I like to send off a little thank you after I have completed your wedding photography. So keep an eye out for something special in the mail.
