A Fairytale Elopement in McCall, Idaho

Some say fairytales are just stories, but Christian and Sarah are proof that a fairytale can be handwritten in the mountains of Idaho. What began on a volleyball court in 2017 blossomed into a Hawaiian sunflower field proposal, and finally, a vintage fairytale inspired elopement in the heart of McCall, Idaho. Far from the traditional “big wedding” stress, these two chose to trade a venue for a lakeside dock and a massive guest list for an intimate morning making breakfast together. From a custom-made gown to a furry maid of honor named Polly, every detail of this McCall, Idaho elopement was a testament to a love that is as adventurous as it is intentional.

Their Vision: An Intimate Celebration with a Debt-Free Start

This couple came to me with a clear vision: they wanted to capture their love in a meaningful, intimate way that allowed them to start their future together debt-free. By choosing to elope, Christian and Sarah were able to prioritize their education and save for their future “castle” (house), and celebrate their marriage without any compromises.

Christian and Sarah vision was to exchange vows privately, spend time with their pup Polly, and then celebrate with their families. We brought this vision to life with a sunrise timeline, giving them the early morning hours to simply be together. They exchanged private vows, took a few sunrise photos, and cooked breakfast with their best friends before heading to a late morning ceremony with family.

Eloping at sunrise gives you the best of both worlds—a peaceful, intimate start to your wedding day and a celebration timeline that works well for guests.

Sunrise Private Vows on Payette Lake

Christian and Sarah found a whimsical Airbnb in McCall that fit their fairytale vibe. One of the main draws was the private dock right on Payette Lake. This peaceful spot was exactly where they envisioned sharing their private vows, surrounded by the stillness of the water and the morning light.

While the couple got ready separately, they chose to start their day with a first look and private vows on the dock in front of the Airbnb. Exchanging vows in the soft morning light was a deeply intimate moment that perfectly showcased the love and respect these two had for one another. Their morning together concluded with couple photos at a nearby location and cooking breakfast back at the Airbnb.

A Custom DIY Wedding Dress and Sage Accents

To achieve her vintage fairytale wedding dress Sarah got creative. She crafted her own wedding dress by combining elements from multiple gowns she purchased on Amazon. The result was a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Sarah ordered a dried California wildflowers bouquet to bring her look together. Christian’s attire complemented her perfectly; his sage green tie matched the wildflower bouquet, keeping the aesthetic simple, natural, and timeless.

A Ponderosa State Park Ceremony and Letters to Family

Something unique about this elopement was how they involved their families. Each family attending received a personal letter from Christian and Sarah. These intentional touches are exactly what make elopements so special.

Sarah and Christian met their family at Ponderosa State Park for a morning ceremony followed by a brunch at The Den in McCall. After the ceremony and a celebratory family lunch, Sarah and Christian took some time for themselves to go paddleboarding before returning to their Airbnb for a luxury dinner prepared by Private Chef Amy.
