Vibrant Mountain Wedding at Brundage Mountain Resort

Joe and Sarah’s Brundage Mountain Resort wedding was an event to remember, blending all the best parts of a traditional wedding with the laid-back, curious spirit of an adventure wedding. With a romantic ceremony at the summit and a celebratory reception back down at the base, this day embodied everything that a mountain wedding should: the awe-inspiring beauty of nature, meaningful time with loved ones, and intimate time to reflect on this big step in your journey together. I am beyond thankful that I was able to capture this breathtaking day in the mountains!

Joe & Sarah’s Vibrant Brundage Mountain Resort Wedding

An unforgettable summer weekend in the mountains

One of Joe and Sarah’s very first dates took place at Brundage—who knew they would be coming back, years later, to mark the start of their married lives together?

After not only growing up skiing with each of their families at Brundage, but getting engaged there, it was obvious to both the bride and groom that Brundage Mountain Resort would be the place where they’d start married life. Nowhere else could compare in terms of sentiment and nostalgia for the two of them, and they knew their families would be thrilled to join together in one of their most loved places.

Joe and Sarah came to me with a vision of a vibrant, heartfelt, classy, and, more than anything, fun day at one of their favorite places in the world. Yes, the location, the details, and the decor were important to them, but making sure their families had fun was the top priority. Above all else, they dreamt of a day full of fun, dancing, and quality time to catch up with old friends + reflect on the roles they played in Joe and Sarah’s relationship.

For their special day at this gorgeous venue, they took full advantage of the stunning landscapes that would be surrounding them, opting for a mountain-classic theme with a touch of elegance. Sarah wore a beautiful gown by Grace Loves Lace featuring a subtle scoop neckline, a mermaid skirt, and a refined train that trailed behind her as she walked. Joe kept things classic with a black suit, adding a deep burgundy tie to match the cabernet dresses of the bridesmaids. Such a perfect accent color to go with the lush, vibrant greenery of the mountains around them! I loved how they also kept their flowers very colorful, not shying away from including bright tones such as blush pink, light blue, soft yellow, and bright white.

A sunny, scenic mountain top ceremony

To reach the summit for Joe and Sarah’s mountain-top ceremony, guests rode the scenic Blue Bird chairlift, taking in the breathtaking views along the way. The bride and groom followed behind, sharing a quiet moment together before joining everyone at the top—what a magical way to begin a wedding celebration!

Weather in the mountains is always a little unpredictable—even in the middle of the summer—so we were excited to get a perfectly sunny day for Joe and Sarah, with blue skies, fluffy clouds, and plenty of sunshine. They truly couldn’t have asked for a more stunning backdrop to their ceremony; everybody admired the views of the Salmon River Mountains, Payette Lake, and surrounding forests as they watched Joe and Sarah exchange vows. It was simply perfect!

Summit Couple Photos

After their ceremony, the couple took portraits around the summit. Once portraits were finished, they hopped onto the chairlift, and joined their guests at the base for their reception.

A lively wedding reception at the base of the ski resort

At the base of the mountain, Joe and Sarah rejoined their guests inside a spacious tent provided by Brundage Mountain Resort. They spent the evening sharing intentional time with family and making the most of the dance floor. As the sun dipped low, we slipped away for a few portraits around the base—ending with some sweet shots beside Sarah’s dad’s vintage red Toyota Land Cruiser. A beautiful close to an unforgettable day!
