While Nick and Emily exchanged vows close to home, their love story began hundreds of miles away in a North Dakota bar, where mutual friends first introduced them. From the moment they met, there was an undeniable connection. The timing, however, wasn’t right.

Together, they chose to build a future, even if it meant navigating months of long distance as work took them to different states. The Perfect Pairing: Proposal at Ste. Chapelle Winery

In 2025, while Emily was visiting Boise (where Nick had already relocated for work), he surprised her with a wine tasting and charcuterie board at Ste. Chapelle Winery. After strolling through the vineyard together, the afternoon took an unforgettable turn when Nick proposed among the vines. They bought a bottle of the wine they shared during their engagement and carefully saved it for their next big milestone: their elopement day!

Planning a Secret Boise Elopement

With a large family spread across multiple states, there never seemed to be a “right” time or place to bring everyone together. Between conflicting schedules, travel costs, and coordinating multiple households, planning a traditional wedding quickly began to feel more like managing logistics than celebrating their relationship.

Instead, Nick and Emily chose a wedding experience free of outside distractions and got married in a way that resonated with their shared love of nature and privacy. They chose to keep their elopement a complete secret, sharing their day with no one but each other and their two dogs.

Although they eloped privately, they still wanted to share the story of their wedding with their loved ones. They chose to invest in photography not only for themselves, but for their families as well. Nick and Emily’s official announcement to family and friends came accompanied by a gallery of photos from their elopement.

As the sun dipped low in the canyon, Nick and Emily exchanged vows overlooking the Snake River with their dogs by their side. There wasn’t a packed timeline to follow or a room full of guests waiting for the next event. There was no grand reception or crowd to entertain—just Nick, Emily, and their dogs, celebrating the quiet, beautiful beginning of their next chapter.
