Salmon River Engagement | Katie & John | Riggins, Idaho

I love the salmon River for so many reasons but in particular I love the variety of landscapes it offers. For this session we spent most of the evening adventuring around French Creek. There are big boulders around the mouth of the creek and a few flats above that offer views of the Salmon River. Katie is an Idaho native with a family history rooted in the outdoors. She spent many hours fishing, hiking and picking up ‘micro trash’ as a child. This location spoke to her childhood and was something new for John who grew up in Georgia.

I met Ani over the phone. We talked a bit about the weather and then she asked if I was up for a hiking session on Payette Lake. Heck, yes I said! Keith and Ani were married in September and received a couples session with me as a gift from a friend.
